Event Description

Calling all knitters, expert or beginner! Worldwide Knit in Public Day highlights that knitting is a fun and accessible social activity for all ages.

Regardless of your skill level, come along and knit a square for charity KOGO (Knit One, Give One) to sew into blankets for people in need.

Two sessions will be run simultaneously at Avondale Heights and Crown Street Stables. Come along to your closest location. Refreshments provided.

Notes & Requirements

We will be knitting squares for the Charity Knit One Give One (KOGO) which will be sent to KOGO to be sewn together and made into blankets. Wool for squares will be supplied at both locations. Please bring along 4mm knitting needles if you have a set (We will have spare needles if you require a pair). We will also have tape measures on hand to measure squares. You can bring your own materials, or use the library's supplies. See below for how to knit squares instructions: Garter Stitch Square Cot/Adult Blanket instructions: Please use 8ply wool with 4mm needles – these squares will measure 20cm x 20cm Knitted Straight Square Pattern: - Cast on 40 stitches - Knit in garter stitch =(knit each row right side (RS) and wrong sides (WS)) until square measures 20cm - Cast off
