Pikachu teams up with a human named Tim to investigate the supposedly accidental death of Tim’s father. The investigative duo discovers a vial of gas that temporarily turns Pokémon into angry monsters. With help from a budding reporter, Tim and Pikachu put on their detective hats and uncover what really happened to Tim’s father.
